In The End

Flash Forward

I smiled, lying in the bed of my college dorm as I watched the television mounted in front of my bed. A tape of Momentum Dance Academy’s Nutcracker 2013 was playing on the screen, as I kicked off my black strappy heels. I was still wearing the shimmery midnight blue skater dress I had worn to the frat party a few of my friends had invited me to, but I’d left a few hours early out of habit. When I was a dancer, it was basically outlawed to be out past midnight.

After I graduated from the Waverly Academy in upstate New York, I’d taken a detour to perform with the New York Ballet as a soloist for a few years. After that, I applied to Stanford and was miraculously accepted. Now, I was 23 and in my senior year of college, and about to graduate in the spring. I hoped to become a lawyer or an architect. After I started at Stanford, I quit dancing professionally.

As for the fate of the rest of the STARS? Rachel is the closet one to me, living in Los Angeles. She graduated from NYU, and is now an agent for major celebrities. Serena went to Brown University, and is now a Guess model in NYC. Taylor ended up moving to England to pursue her equestrian career, so we don’t see her too often. As for Rory? She stayed in New York after she graduated from Columbia, and is a familiar face on Broadway.

We still talk on the phone, text, and during weekends off and breaks, fly around to visit eachother. We have an unbreakable bond that’s too precious to give up, and we’ve been through so much together.

Onscreen, Rory pirouettes around the stage as Clara, then exits as Serena enters graciously as the Sugarplum Fairy. I lay back in my bed, watching the scenes going on as I try to remember what happened behind-the-scenes, the secrets of the production that only the dancers knew.

The life I’m living definitely wasn’t what I expected, and seemed a little frightening at first, but I think it turned out much better than I expected.

After over a year together, the STARS will not be blogging together for 2014.

Take some time to see what the other girls’ fates are, in detail.

If you’re interested in any of my claims, then please send me an email.
